Modern browser. Better privacy tools.
A current version of Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox or Safari is supported. Brave is the recommended browser for Ryo Tools because of its privacy focus.
Keep the browser current.
Ryo Tools supports current releases of Brave, Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Brave is the recommended browser because its privacy-focused defaults align most closely with the purpose of Ryo Tools.
Modern browser capabilities such as secure random-number generation, local file APIs, canvas/image decoding, modern JavaScript and, for selected document workflows, WebAssembly or workers are important to local-first processing.
Supported browsers
Recommended for its privacy focus, with strong Chromium compatibility. Very aggressive Shields settings can affect selected scripts.
Broad support for local file, canvas and cryptographic workflows.
Current Chromium-based releases work well with the toolkits.
Good support for local processing and browser cryptography.
Use a current macOS or iOS release for the widest format and API support.
Most core workflows work on phones and tablets.
Mobile browsers can handle many Ryo Tools operations, but large PDFs, high-resolution images and memory-heavy conversions may be more comfortable on a desktop. Your device memory and the operating system can impose limits independent of the website.
If a tool does not respond
- Confirm JavaScript is enabled for tools.ryo.news.
- Reload the page after updating the browser.
- If a strict content blocker breaks an interface, allow the minimum necessary scripts for this site and try again.
- For file tools, confirm the browser has permission to access the file you selected.
- For very large jobs, try a desktop browser with more available memory.
